CallingID's Safe Browsing Solution Includes All Microsoft,
Symantec and McAfee Solutions and Much More to Protect from Scams and
Encourages Using the Internet for Business
TELECOM 2006, TEL AVIV, ISRAEL, Nov 7th 2006 - CallingID, the leading provider
of safe Internet browsing solutions, introduces Link Advisor, a revolutionary
solution that protects users from Internet scam and encourages use of the
Internet for safe e-commerce and online banking. It combines five layers that
protect users from all aspects of Internet fraud and provides positive
identification of sites suitable to do business with. When a user places his
mouse on a web link, received in an email message, web page or instant message,
a risk assessment with full details of the site owner is shown, before the site
is actually visited. While all other solutions are limited to one or two
protection layers, CallingID provides a comprehensive, non-intrusive and user
friendly solution.
The following table shows the five levels of protection CallingID provides
compared to the protection provided by Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, Symantec
Norton Confidential and McAfee Site Advisor.

According to several studies conducted by Anti-Phishing-Working-Group, UC
Berkeley and Harvard University, more than 90% of visits at fraud sites result
from following links sent to users in email messages, instant messages or web
pages. CallingID Link Advisor identifies and verifies each link. CallingID
advises the user whether the link will lead to a legitimate site and lists the
risks involved. As a result 77% of CallingID users reported that they increased
Internet usage for either e-commerce or online banking because they feel safe
with the new high level of protection they have.
"The Results of the Internet Fraud studies indicate that web users need
guidance when surfing the Internet" said Yoram Nissenboim, CallingID CEO,
"CallingID succeeds in protecting users from becoming fraud victims, while
encouraging them to do more business with real sites. It is a transparent
solution that lets users continue regular Internet activities while providing
them with useful information. Before they visit a site they know who the owner
of the site is and whether it is O.K. to trade with it. When there is a
potential risk they are given an immediate warning and their personal data is
not exposed to identity theft".
CallingID considers risky all links to sites that are known as phishing sites;
are known as using malicious code; owned by illegitimate organizations;
deceiving links (by clicking on the link you will reach a different site than
the one displayed); sites that did not use reasonable means to disclose their
owner. CallingID has a database of over 4,000,000 web sites and thousands of
new sites are added to the database daily.
CallingID's software can be downloaded from
