CallingID Safe Browsing Solutions Support Web 2.0, Windows
Vista and Office 2007
NEW HAVEN, CT, December 26th 2006 - CallingID, the leading provider of strong
authentication and safe browsing solutions, announced today an update to its
two safe browsing desktop solutions - CallingID Toolbar and Link Advisor that
now supports Windows Vista and Office 2007. The new version is web 2.0 enabled.
Users can now add their own reviews about sites they visit.
CallingID supports the latest versions of a wide range of applications in
Windows Vista, including Office 2007's word, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Avant
browser, AOL browser, Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Thunderbird,
Eudora, Incredimail, ICQ, Google Talk and Yahoo messenger.
CallingID incorporates a rich database of 4,000,000 sites and is known as the
most reliable source of information about websites and their owners. The
acclaimed desktop application, which lets users see who they are dealing with
when they visit websites, also assists them when hesitating whether to follow
links received by email, Instant messenger, web page or Word document before
actually accessing it.
CallingID's desktop solution combines five security layers that protect users
from all aspects of Internet fraud and provide positive identification of sites
suitable to do business with. When a user places his mouse over a hyperlink,
received in an email message, web page, instant message or even Word document,
a risk assessment with full details of the site owner is shown, before the site
is actually visited. While all other solutions are limited to one or two
protection layers, CallingID provides a comprehensive, non-intrusive and user
friendly solution.
"Our users contribute to CallingID's solution by reviewing the sites they
visit. They tell us if they consider the site good or bad, if they've
experienced problems with the site and if they've found it useful and safe. A
special algorithm translates the results to a simple five level rating." said
Yoram Nissenboim, CallingID CEO. "User input is an important factor in risk
assessment. Enabling users to voice their opinions adds a new dimension to the
information we've made available about the Internet."
CallingID's software can be downloaded from
www.callingid.com/download.aspx. Installation is fast and simple.
CallingID supports Internet Explorer (including IE7), Firefox (including 2.0),
AOL and Avant web browsers, Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail,
Thunderbird, Eudora and Incredimail email clients, ICQ, Google Talk and Yahoo
messengers.
