Strong Authentication, Anti-Phishing and Risk Assessment
Packaged by CallingID to Provide Full Protection Against Identity Theft for
Online Banking
NEW HAVEN, CT, May 29th 2006 - CallingID, leading provider of strong
authentication and safe browsing solutions, announced today its combined
solution that enables all users to be protected against identity theft when
they login to their online banking account, without having to install anything
on their desktop. In addition to strong authentication, users that choose to
install the CallingID toolbar get automatic risk assessment and information.
They know who owns each site they visit and whether it is O.K. to trade with
them. When there is a potential risk they are given an immediate warning.
Safety Seal, CallingID's strong authentication solution, a simple server that
does not require any hardware or software to be installed on the client, uses
its patent pending multiple security layers to protect users against
Trojans/Spyware and Man-in-the-Middle. It allows users to keep their usual
username and password login process and requires minimal support. Second factor
authentication is required only in cases where the user is suspected as
hostile, but most users are well protected without the need for a complex
process.
Although there is no requirement for any client software, users are encouraged
to install and use CallingID toolbar to ensure safe Internet browsing.
"The combination of the strong authentication server and the client software as
an education tool is the very solution FFIEC aimed for in its guidelines" said
Yoram Nissenboim, CallingID CEO, "CallingID succeeds in protecting users from
becoming fraud victims, while encouraging them to do more business with real
sites. It is a transparent solution that lets users continue regular Internet
activities while providing them with a high level of protection and useful
information".
CallingID's toolbar can be downloaded for free from www.callingid.com/download.aspx. Installation is fast and simple.
CallingID supports Internet Explorer and Firefox under Windows platforms (98,
ME, 2000 and XP).
Banks and other institutions offering CallingID's combined solution of Safety
Seal server and CallingID toolbar to their clients now have a way to
considerably reduce the risk and concern that their clients have of being
scammed, thus addressing their reluctance to conduct business over the
Internet. The clients feel that the institution has taken the necessary steps
to secure them, and since no complex procedure is added, they can significantly
increase their business activities with the institution. We see this solution
widely adopted by banks since Safety Seal helps banks comply with the October
2005 FFEIC guidelines.
