CallingID Support: Customizing the CallingID Toolbar

This section of CallingID Support explains the many options available to suit CallingID to your needs. To access these options, press the CallingID Menu button on your toolbar and choose 'Options...'.

What does 'Enable Data Protection' mean?
Data protection is a CallingID feature that protects you from sending your personal information to risky sites. When your information might be sent to a suspicious site, you get an alert. Click here for an example.
This alert lets you decide between 3 options:

  • Yes, it is OK to send information to that site.
  • No, this site should not be able to receive information.
  • I am not sure, This time only, sets the answer "yes" or "no" to allow only this specific visit to this site. You'll be asked again next time you visit this site.

If you reply "Yes" or "No" without checking "I am not sure", next time you try to send information to the same site, your reply will be automatically used. If you answered "No" the information you try to send will automatically be blocked. If you replied "Yes" the information will automatically be sent.

What does the 'Show me all the sites that can receive information from a page I visit' checkbox do?
Many sites contain forms that send information to several locations, databases or sites. This option will allow you to view which sites will receive the information you are sending.
