How do I use CallingID Link Advisor?
CallingID Link Advisor is intended to help you make educated decisions before you enter sites. By informing you about the site behind a link you've received Link Advisor keeps you safe from known thieves and criminals.

After installing Link Advisor all you have to do is place your mouse over a link in your web browser, email client or instant messenger and wait two secounds to gauge if it's safe to click it (Some users may have set their Link Advisor to display information when the CTRL key is held down and the mouse is placed over a link).

Link Advisor displays the following information:

CallingID Menu Button - see here
Risk Assessment Indicator - see here
Site URL - the website that the link connects to.
Site Owner and Address - details about the owner of the site. The name of the site owner is followed by the country where it is located, followed by its address.

What does the risk assessment indicator mean?
Every time you place your mouse over a link Link Advisor evaluates it's trustworthiness and displays one of the following indicators:

The site has been verified as safe to access and to send information to. To get more details click the VERIFIED indicator.

Link Advisor found problems in the web site or with its owner. To get more details click the LOW RISK indicator. You should make sure that you trust the owner of this site before you give it information.
Problems were found in the web page or in it's owner's details. Before you proceed, you must visually verify that this is the site you want to visit and give information to. To get more details click the HIGH RISK indicator.
This is a temporary indicator - site verification information is being processed. You should proceed with caution or wait for verification to change to the appropriate risk assessment.
The site cannot be reached or the link points to an invalid site. Clicking on this link will lead nowhere

Why doesn't Link Advisor appear when I place my mouse over certain links?
Some special links do not display Link Advisor, such as links generated by hidden code. This problem is typical to links in pages built with Flash or JavaScript. In such cases Link Advisor will not display anything. Avoid following such links and if you must follow them, proceed with caution.
